How does healing progress after permanent makeup?
The healing process after micropigmentation is a very individual matter. However, it should be remembered that during the healing of permanent makeup, certain skin reactions may appear. It's good to be prepared for them to avoid unnecessary stress. Expect irritation in the areas subjected to micropigmentation, redness, swelling, itching, and even slight pain and increased sensitivity than before.
A few days after the permanent makeup, scabs also appear, and this is entirely natural. However, the skin regenerates very quickly, and after about a week, they should no longer be visible. What's more, the effect is more intense in the first days after the micropigmentation, and it may seem a bit exaggerated. However, remember that the pigment gradually starts to fade, and the final color is visible about a month after the procedure. The full effect is usually visible after about 4 weeks when you can also see if repigmentation is needed.
What affects the color in permanent makeup?
We already know that the gradual change of color after micropigmentation is a natural phenomenon, but there are situations when it indicates a procedure performed incorrectly. The most common causes of discoloration or too rapid fading of the pigment include: the angle of pigmentation – the procedure should be done perpendicular to avoid inflammation and support faster healing and pigment setting, the depth of pigmentation – makeup done too shallowly risks pigment precipitation, while too deep leads to repigmentation and color change, area – pigment behaves differently in each place, and the area where permanent makeup is performed also directly affects its durability, and gender – women's epidermis is thinner, significantly affecting micropigmentation's durability.

These include skin type – with dry skin, the durability and shade of the pigment should proceed without problems, while for those with oily skin, there's an increased risk of faster pigment precipitation, age – it's easier to do perfect permanent makeup for younger women because their skin is firmer and has more collagen than older women. Mature clients also start to lose their natural firmness and tension, and the skin structure changes due to past illnesses or taken medications.
Additionally, the skin structure in the area subjected to micropigmentation plays a significant role. The previous performance of permanent makeup is also relevant. Sun exposure, care, taken medications, especially hormonal ones, as well as diseases such as psoriasis, vitiligo, or even undergone chemotherapy, also influence the procedure's durability. It is also essential to remember the skin color and its tone, as the pigment must be appropriately matched to it. The linergist should choose a dye for the complexion in a way that no discoloration will occur.
